Eleanor Olson

Eleanor Thomasina Olson of Pasadena, Maryland passed from this life to eternal life with her family by her side, September 1, 2021. She was born August 16, 1935 the daughter of the deceased Thomas and Mildred (Mechbeck) Benedict.

Eleanor loved to love on people. She was a remarkably strong woman with a big heart who welcomed everyone into her life. Eleanor was a dedicated mother to five sons and grandmother to eight grandchildren, but she touched the lives of so many more with her mothering nature. She had an infectious spirit and smile that left everyone in her wake feeling warmer. She was almost always found with family, her dearest of friends, or her beloved Galilee Lutheran Church community, enjoying every minute of life.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of nearly 66 years, Allen Milton Olson, and their four children Keith Olson, his companion Liz Hiscox; Kurt Olson, his wife, Layla and their children Josh, Ryan and Emily; Mark Olson, his wife, Wendy and their children Olivia and Nicholas; and Thomas Olson, his wife, Melissa and their children Tyler, Evan and Keira; and daughter-in-law Karla. She is preceded in death by her son Allen Olson.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met, she will be missed. We invite all to share stories of remembrance with the family for a viewing, Wednesday September 15 from 2-4pm or 6-8pm, at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD. Funeral service will be held at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD, Thursday, September 16 with a lay in repose from 9-9:30am followed by services and final burial at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032.
