John Lazos

February 4, 1945 — August 13, 2022

John, “Johnny,” Lazos was born in New York City to the late Thanasi and Vasiliki “Billie” Lazos. After spending years in the US Coast Guard, he ultimately ended up in Maryland after traveling around the world, which his free spirit at heart enjoyed during those younger years of his life. While in Maryland he became a staple to his hometown in Pasadena, Maryland as the beloved business owner of Johnny’s Family Restaurant which he ran for decades. While in Maryland, Johnny was a devoted husband, loving father and eventually a proud grandfather whom his family loved deeply and he loved immensely in return.

Johnny was a caring man, always giving to others without expecting anything back in return. He was a passionate man about everything that he loved, and always wore his heart on his sleeve. A true family man who always wanted to make sure his loved ones were taken care of and happy. He loved entertaining for many years, from holiday parties at the restaurant, special occasions with the family and friends to more relaxed occasions of experimenting with different recipes and eager to please people with something new to try.

Johnny’s motto was always “family first” as togetherness and showing support to family spoke into the name of his business. He always made sure his family knew that he loved them by frequent reminders each day by verbal expressions or by simply going out of his way to make others happy with simple gestures just to put a smile on their face.

John is survived by his wife Terri, daughter Melissa, son-in-law Daniel, grandson Luke, two bonus grandchildren Jordan and Alivia and sister Sia.
