Orville H Ford Sr. passed peacefully on May 14, 2020.
Orville (Orv) H. Ford Sr., preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Naomi C. Ford. Beloved father of Orville H. Ford Jr. and his wife Joyce, Brian B. Ford and his wife Sandra, Pamela P. Cox and her husband George, Tracy L. Miller and her husband Barry, Craig K. Ford and his wife Tricia. Loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Born on February 6, 1923 to the late Joseph and Julia in South Baltimore, Maryland. He was one of eight children; one sister and six brothers, preceded in death by Howard, Carlton, Charles and Grayson. Survived by Phyllis, Donald and Joseph. Orville and Naomi were married on June 30, 1943. A veteran of WWII; he left for England on September 12, 1943 and spent time in England, Ireland and Germany. He returned home to his wife, Naomi on January 23. 1946. He was blessed with a large family and good health. He loved spending time at Friendship Church and participated in many roles there. During that time his love for the Lord grew very strong. At home he liked being in the kitchen and making his favorite oyster stew; he loved watching Golf on TV; getting up at all hours to watch the British Open, and he certainly enjoyed a good horse race. His strong work ethic was proven by his 35 years working at Cloverland Farms Dairy.
As Orville is laid to rest on this Memorial Day weekend, we thank him for his service and a life well lived.
Visitation will be held at Friendship Church of the Brethren, 217 Mansion Road, Linthicum, Maryland 21090 on Saturday, May 23rd from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. At which time Funeral Services will be held. The service will stream Live on the church's Facebook page. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
