Robert Smith

On Thursday June 4th 2020, Robert (Bob) E. Smith, loving husband, father of four, grandfather of seven, and great grandfather of one, passed away at the age of 69.

Robert was born on October 29th 1950, in Baltimore MD to George and Shirley “Schwinn” Smith.  He was a Sergeant at MCIJ in Jessup MD for 39 years.  On October 22nd, 1977, he married Frances “Crickett” White.  They were married for 42 years. They raised three children, daughters Patricia and Stefanie, and son, Robert.

Robert had a passion for bird watching, coaching his kid’s sports (basketball, soccer, and baseball), and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was known for love and dedication to his family, infectious smile, and his quick wit.

Robert was preceded in death by his father George, his mother Shirley, and his brother John.  He is survived by his wife Frances “Crickett”, his four children Dawn, Patricia, Stefanie and Robert, his seven grandchildren, Brady, Nicholas, Emily, Jaxson, Grace, Benjamin, and Katie, his great granddaughter Everlee, sister Joanne, and Son in Laws Jeff, Jung and Jerry.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8th 2020 from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9th 2020 at 11am.  The service will start at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, P.A. and conclude at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Hwy., Glen Burnie MD, 21061.   Services will be followed by a celebration of life at his daughter’s house in Arnold, MD.
