Sharon Riffle Thorpe, 77, of Mount Jackson, Virginia, peacefully passed away on July 29, 2021 surrounded by family. Sharon loved the morning mountain views in Mt. Jackson and was proud to call it home. She enjoyed genealogy, 4th of July family reunions and antiquing with friends. Sharon was born March 5, 1944 to Forrest and Leota Riffle in the city of Charlestown, West Virginia. Sharon was preced in death by her husband Merle Thorpe, Jr., her son Wayne L. Butler, Jr. and great-granddaughter Hope Marie Butler. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Patricia and Talbot Watkins and by her son and daughter in law Timothy and Audra Butler. She is also survived by her brother James Riffle. Sharon had 9 grandchildren, Wayne Butler III and his wife Deanna, Rachel Packard and her husband Jason, Matthew Watkins and his wife Brittany, Jacob Butler, Timothy Butler, Jr. and Nicholas Watkins. She also had 6 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena, Maryland 21122 on Monday August 2, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. At which time a funeral service will begin. A graveside service will be held on Monday August 2, 2021 at 3 PM at Sunset View Memorial Gardens Woodstock, Virginia.
